이 프로젝트는 보이지 않는 가치인 소망을 시각화 한 프로젝트이다. 

 

동양 민담중에 탑을 돌면서 하늘에 소원을 빌면 그 정성이 하늘에 닿아 소원이 이루어진다라는 이야기가 있다. K-Balance를 만드는 과정은 탑을 돌며 소원을 비는 과정과 흡사하다. 탑을 돌면서 소원을 빈다는 이 의미를 시각화 시키는 과정에서 원심력을 이용해 로프를 한줄씩 지그재그 미싱으로 돌리며 올린다. 이 일련의 과정은 K-Balance 형태를 만들기 위한 craftsmanship을 기반으로한 작가의 수행과정이고, 그 과정의 결과물은 탑의 형태가 되어 빛이된다.

This project is about visualize invisible value ‘Hope’

 

Among oriental folktales, there is story that if one makes a wish upon the higher being by circling around the pagoda, one's hope reaches heaven and then one's wishes are fulfilled . The process of making of K-Balance is much analogous to this process, which is called circumambulation.

 

K-Balance is built from bottom up by zigzag sewing each circular layer using centrifugal force, one  thread of rope at a time. The process is a meditative practice based on craftsmanship, and the end result takes the form of pagoda with light shining from atop. 

 

i hope to bring brief moment of relaxation and thinking about invisible value in the busy modern life through daily living product such as K-balance lighting.
